Mullion and transom facade
The newly developed .SI (Super Insulation) variants of the aluminum mullion-transom constructions are distinguished by their pioneering system details.
With the use of innovative materials, the new type of insulation reduces energy dispersion to a minimum. The reflective, inward-facing surfaces are other components that help to achieve the outstanding Uf-value including the screw factor using a glass thickness of 48mm.
As part of the PHI institute certification, it was ascertained that the system complies with the comfort criterion and complies with the passive house standard with excellent thermal insulation.

With this Schüco Structural Glazing system it is possible to build all-glass facades with a remarkable visual impact.
Thanks to profiles visible only on the inside, a perfectly coplanar surface is obtained externally marked by the subtle texture of the glass joints which, from an architectural point of view, is suitable for both large and small facades.
A further advantage is represented by the greater possibilities of combining the glass thicknesses of the inner and outer pane.
The new Schüco facade system, dedicated to the rational renovation of already existing buildings, was created to deal with the problems that arise daily during renovation projects: the tenants / users of the rooms adjacent to the facade generally have to leave their area free operational during construction, when windows and facade elements are removed and replaced.
This causes stress and inconvenience not only for users, but also for owners due to lost income (rent, etc.). The whole thing is also logistically very expensive.
The new aluminum structure allows the clients to keep the building functional during the entire course of the works.
Using special brackets, an external load-bearing structure is fixed to the floors at a defined distance, following the construction grid of the building body. In this way the parapets that are not suitable for supporting further loads are bypassed.

carlo nobili presents the Technical Skin experimental “envelope-plant” system, composed in the form of the double-envelope facade and according to the prefabricated “cell” typology.
The experimental system is constituted with respect to the “dynamic interaction” towards the external environment, in equilibrium with climatic stresses and with both environmental and fruition needs.
The Technical Skin double casing system is defined according to:
- the calibration of comfort requirements in interior spaces
- the procedures aimed at containing energy consumption
- the integrated and controlled “passive” type of operation the performance combination with the heating, ventilation and cooling systems.
The double-enveloped façade system is intended to isolate, filter or absorb climatic stimuli (above all, of a thermal and luminous nature), in order to reduce the contribution as much as possible of the technical installations, according to the constitution:
- as an environmentally responsive wall, through “specialized” units, composed of functional layers calibrated to actively “respond” to external environmental stresses
- as an engineered wall, using “adjustable devices” to control the transmission of heat, light and natural ventilation.
Sun screen blades
The development of the envelope components also involves the design, production and assembly of the calibration or light radiation shielding devices, in the form of the aluminum shading elements to be applied to the outside of the windows or facade systems.
Research and production consider the development of devices for regulating ergonomic and energy conditions, according to the reflection, capture and diffusion of external environmental stimuli, proposing:
- the elements to calibrate both the incidence of solar radiation and the light conditions;
- the execution of aluminum slats (in linear, fixed or mobile form) for shielding, for deflecting incident rays and for reducing overheating and glare phenomena.
